Dashboard
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Home is the first page you see after logging in to Fencer. It is a working board of security agent tasks — items the coordinator prepared and work already assigned to people in your organization — with a sidebar that shows where you stand and what to do next.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”When you navigate to Main > Home, Fencer loads the organization’s task board and the dashboard summary used by the sidebar. If your organization has no scanning integrations yet, Home shows only the task board so you can connect a scanner first. Once at least one scanning integration is active, the page uses a two-column layout: the task board on the left and the sidebar on the right.
Administrators also see the Onboarding Checklist at the top of Home until every step is complete or they dismiss it.
Dashboard Sections
Section titled “Dashboard Sections”Agent task board
Section titled “Agent task board”The Next Tasks board is the main surface on Home. It lists agent tasks, highest priority first, so you can pick up unassigned work, see what is assigned to you, or browse everything in the organization.
Filter the board by:
- Unassigned, Mine, or Everyone. Each chip shows how many open tasks it holds.
- Status (All statuses, Open, or In Progress), on the Mine and Everyone views.
- Assignee, on the Everyone view: pick a person, or Anyone to clear it.
Each card links into the work itself (a vulnerability, detection, review, or other subject). Closed work collects under Completed & dismissed below the list.
Administrators and Team Members can click the sparkle button (Shape next set of tasks) to tell Fencer what to focus on next and Save their priorities. When the unassigned backlog runs low, the Unassigned view also shows a Shape the next set of tasks prompt with Generate tasks so the coordinator can replenish the board.
Assigned vulnerabilities, vulnerability buckets, detections, pentest findings, and identity work that used to appear as a separate “My Tasks” list now live on this board (filter to Mine).
Recommended actions
Section titled “Recommended actions”The top of the sidebar surfaces work to resume, then recurring activities to start:
- Continue an in-progress vulnerability review, pentest with unaddressed findings, or access review.
- Start a vulnerability review, pentest, access review, or architecture review (Review architecture, which opens Main > Advisory) when none has been done in the last 30 days. The pentest prompt needs the penetration testing feature, and the access review prompt needs identity management.
If nothing needs attention, the card is hidden.
Posture
Section titled “Posture”The Where you stand card is the current-state snapshot: open critical and high vulnerability groups with a severity breakdown (plus ignored groups), SLA compliance (Breached and Approaching), and identities that need review when identity management is in use. If no SLA policy is configured, the card offers Set up an SLA policy instead.
Noise reduction
Section titled “Noise reduction”The noise-reduction funnel shows how raw findings become the in-scope, true-positive workload Fencer asks you to act on: Findings detected, All vulnerabilities, In scope, and True positives. Each stage links to the matching vulnerability list.
Progress
Section titled “Progress”The Progress card shows whether you are winning: a 90-day burndown of open critical and high vulnerabilities, plus critical and high remediation figures — Fixed (30 days), Median days to fix, New this week, and Resolved this week.
Broken integration alerts
Section titled “Broken integration alerts”If any connected integrations are in a broken state (for example, due to expired credentials), a warning card appears at the top of Home with the integration name, when the problem was detected, and an Open settings link to the integration settings page. When several integrations are broken, the card lists them and links to Review all in settings.
Vulnerability decrease celebration
Section titled “Vulnerability decrease celebration”When your open vulnerability count drops compared to the previous day, a celebration modal appears congratulating you on the decrease. Dismiss it with Nice!, or check Don’t show these again in the modal to opt out of future celebrations.
