Calendly Integration

The Calendly integration connects your Fencer organization to a Calendly account, allowing you to sync organization members into Fencer’s identity management module. This gives you visibility into who has access to your Calendly organization and helps you maintain a complete inventory of user identities across your SaaS tools.

  • An active Fencer subscription.
  • The Administrator role in your Fencer organization.
  • A plan that includes Identity Management, for the member sync to run.
  • Admin or owner access to your Calendly organization.

Fencer connects to Calendly using OAuth 2.0. When you authorize the connection, Fencer receives an access token and refresh token that grant access to your Calendly organization’s member directory. Fencer uses the Calendly REST API v2 to list all organization memberships and syncs them as vendor identities.

Each Calendly organization member is synced with their name, email address, username (slug), role (owner, admin, or member), and profile avatar URL. Calendly roles of “owner” and “admin” are preserved as-is, while all other roles (such as “user”) are normalized to “member.” Identity sync runs when the connection is first established and then daily.

  1. Go to Admin > Integrations.
  2. Under Available Integrations, click the Calendly card.
  3. Review the getting started information, then click Continue.
  4. Read what Fencer will access, then click Connect Calendly.
  5. You are redirected to the Calendly OAuth authorization page. Sign in if prompted.
  6. Review the permissions that Fencer requests and click Allow to grant access.
  7. You are redirected back to Fencer. The integration is now active, and identity sync begins automatically.

The Calendly connection has no settings to edit. To connect another Calendly organization, click Add new connection on the Calendly card under Active Integrations.

Fencer syncs the following from your Calendly organization:

  • Organization members — each member with their name, email address, username, role, and avatar URL.
  • Roles — Calendly roles are mapped as follows: owner and admin are kept as-is; all other roles are normalized to member.

All synced users appear under Posture > Identities as Calendly vendor identities.

  1. Go to Admin > Integrations.
  2. Find the active Calendly connection, click Remove, and confirm with Remove.
  3. Fencer clears the stored OAuth tokens, marks the connection as deleted, and removes the associated vendor record.

Auditing Calendly organization membership:

  1. Your organization uses Calendly for appointment scheduling with 15 team members.
  2. Go to Admin > Integrations and connect the Calendly integration using an account that has admin or owner access.
  3. After authorization, Fencer syncs all 15 members along with their roles and email addresses.
  4. Open Posture > Identities to see Calendly identities alongside identities from other connected providers such as Google Workspace, Slack, or Zoom.
  5. Use the identity data to verify that only current employees have access to your Calendly organization, and to identify any users with elevated roles (owner or admin) who may no longer need them.
  • “Failed to connect to Calendly. Please try again.” — Fencer could not retrieve your user data from Calendly after authorization. Verify that you have admin or owner access to the Calendly organization and try again.
  • “Failed to connect to Calendly. No organization found.” — Fencer could not determine your Calendly organization from the API response. Ensure your Calendly account belongs to an organization and is not a personal account without an organization.
  • Connection shows as unhealthy — The access token may have expired or been revoked. Click Add new connection on the Calendly card and authorize the same Calendly organization again; Fencer refreshes the existing connection’s tokens.
